The cost of becoming special

A new challenge for the new generation
We would like to share with you a brief reflection that we believe is important, based on our many years of experience as coaches at the academy. Over time, we have observed how different generations of children who come through here face unique challenges.
In recent generations, we have noticed a recurring pattern: most children have everything they need readily available to them. This often makes it harder for them to face changes or difficult circumstances. It doesn’t mean they can’t overcome them; it’s simply that they’re not used to doing so.
At the academy, we hold a fundamental principle: “If you want to achieve something special, you must do something special.” Tennis, like life, requires effort, sacrifice, and perseverance. Great goals are not achieved by doing what everyone else does; they are achieved by taking that extra step others are not willing to take.
This is why we ask for your support in instilling in your children the values of sacrifice and commitment. If it’s cold, we encourage them to dress warmly and attend training. If it’s hot, let them take the necessary precautions and keep going. Consistency and discipline are key, not only for success in tennis but also for their personal growth in life.
Over the years, we have seen that the children who stand out and achieve their goals are not necessarily the most talented, fastest, or most skilled. Instead, they are the ones who are willing to work harder, overcome challenges, and take that extra step.
At the same time, we understand that as parents, our natural instinct is to protect our children. However, sometimes we can make things too easy for them, depriving them of valuable opportunities to learn how to face challenges. It is important for children to attend their training sessions regularly. Absences, even when they seem minor, add up and can significantly affect their progress. If your child is feeling a little unwell, with proper precautions, it’s better for them to attend and make the most of the training rather than miss valuable hours that can’t be recovered.
We want to remind you that tennis, like any discipline, teaches life lessons that go far beyond the court: commitment, resilience, and the satisfaction of achieving goals through effort.
We sincerely appreciate your understanding and support in helping your children build the strong and determined character that will allow them to excel in tennis and in any area of life.
